This is my journal. It’s been ages since I kept one, but I missed it, so I created a new one. The last time I maintained a journal was before HEX was released. Back then I was a young author with big dreams, writing for a small but loyal group of Dutch readers. Today, I’m still relatively young (or so I say to myself), but a lot has happened.
In this journal, I’d like to tell you about some of that stuff. I’ll tell you what I am doing and what is on my mind. I hope to share some of my advice with other writers, young and old. I’d like to give you, my dear readers, an insight into my life. Okay, I hear you think: but what about Instagram and Facebook? Isn’t a journal kinda old nowadays? Well, yeah, but if social media is the equivalent of me speaking publicly at an event with hundreds of faces, this journal will be the equivalent of inviting you into my home. Here, I can be more intimate. Tell you the stories that require a fireplace, or a nice and soft couch.
Most of all, I’d like for this journal to be a place where I can meet you. The beautiful thing about being a writer, is that I require your imagination to make my stories come to life. It’s a bit like magic. Therefore, you are important to me. I care about you.
So be welcome. Stay a while. Leave a message below and share your toughts. Discuss and muse. I cannot wait to hear from you.
A disclaimer: most of my posts will be in English, for everyone to read. Some will look like jibberish. That’s because I’m Dutch. So if you see things like the next paragraph, don’t worry: it’s not me having a stroke. It’s Dutch. Just skip to the next post, or use Google Translate if you’re really curious.
Coming up next: a LOT more about Echo than you know so far.
